About the Site
The object of this site is to encourage residents to be more knowledgeable in Great
Yarmouth's rich history. I have found that people become more interested in local
history when they see old photographs that show the changes that have occurred over
the years.
This site was designed to allow anyone to share their old photographs and knowledge
of Great Yarmouth.
The web site is relatively new and I hope it will grow with more content in the
future. For it to do that, it relies heavily on contributions from the public. You
can share your photographs by clicking on the 'Upload' icon on the front page, or
You do not have to be a member to upload photographs.
As a member, you have the ability to change the site's content. To become a member
just click here. Joining is free, and we just need
a name, email address and a password.
Once you become a member, you can create and update any article on any place or
event that you wish, or even create an article about yourself. You will also have
the ability to edit the descriptions and keywords of any photograph, and you can
also add your own book review or add links to other Yarmouth web sites.
The 'Blog' section gives members the opportunity to air their opinions on any subject,
and can be used to vent your frustrations.
At present the site may be difficult to use, and any feedback
on making it friendlier will be very welcome.
Thank you for your support.
Kristian Dyball, Site Administrator.
